The 25 Star Flag . 1836-1837
Well, Sir, I'd have thought that they would have had five rows of five stars each to make up a 25 star flag, but take a look at how they did it! This flag recognized the addition of Arkansas to the Union on June 15, 1836 and would only fly for just one year.

In the State of Maine:
- Andrew Jackson ends his run as President and is succeeded by Martin Van Buren .
- 1837 - Victoria becomes Queen of Great Britain.
- 1837 - Samuel Morse exhibits his electric telegraph in NYC.
- 1837 - First Canadian Railroad.
- Robert Pinckney Dunlap is still Governor.
And in the booming Town of Franklin:
- Selectmen were:
- Stevens Gould, Russell Wooster, and Samuel Donnell (1836-1837)
- John West, David Springer, Jr., and John Scammon (1837-1838)
