      The 36 Star Flag .    1865 - 1867

HELP YOUR LOCAL WEBMASTER! Something funny was going on in Franklin around this time. Although the state of Maine had enacted prohibition, apparently it was temporarily suspended (?). Could it have been the Paris Effect with Franklin's Civil War Veterans? (You know - "How ya gonna keep 'em down on the farm, afer they've seen Paree....") What's the difference between a "drinking house" and a "tiffling shop"? If any of you kind readers have enlightenment to share, please contact us via E-mail by clicking here . Thanks, Webmaster.
